How to choose a good plumber: a 6-point checklist
The most expensive mistake in a renovation is often not a cheap product but a random installer. Here’s how to spot a professional before work starts.
When people hire a plumber, they trust them completely. That’s why choosing the wrong installer costs the most. A poor installer cuts corners, buys cheap materials at the market and, when something leaks a year later, blames the product. The seller blames the installer — and the homeowner pays for everything.
Checklist: 6 signs of a good installer
1. They have a plan and a drawing
A good plumber starts with a layout: where pipes run, where the manifold goes, where the valves are. If they work “by eye” and can’t explain the system, that’s a warning sign.
2. Good tools
You can spot a professional by their tools: a quality PPR welding machine, press tools, proper wrenches.
3. They guarantee their joints
An installer doesn’t have to guarantee factory automation, but they must stand behind their own joints. If they say “no warranty”, why hire them?
4. Experience you can see
Ask to see completed projects or photos — an experienced installer will gladly show them.
5. They use well-known brands
A good installer fits products they can vouch for — proven brands with a manufacturer’s warranty, not “whatever is cheapest at the bazaar”.
6. They don’t steer you where they get paid
Some installers send customers where they receive bonuses, not where the quality is. Ask directly why this store and this brand.
How to protect yourself
The simplest way is to buy materials and installation from one company. Then one company is responsible for both the product and the work.
We offer turnkey installation with our own crews and recommend only trusted installers who work with us under contract.
